📄 Air pump — noisy, failed, water from the air inlet

Applies to: LFC-50 to LFC-500 and LFC-1000.

Symptoms: Metallic or loud noise; pump does not run although Diagnostics shows OK; Open circuit or short; all LEDs flashing together (24 V short to ground); water dripping from the air pump inlet hose.

Likely causes: Failed one-way (check) valve overloading the pump or letting drum water back-flow to the inlet; pump soaked by a plumbing leak; internal motor burnout; loose pump with missing screws.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Check 24 Vdc at the pump spade connector with the pump switched on in Manual mode.

  2. Check the one-way valve on the outlet hose; water at the inlet means the valve has failed.

  3. If the electronics show a 24 V short, unplug the air pump and see if the fault clears.

Solution and parts: Air pump 79-01201 (24 Vdc, 8 W; LFC-50 to LFC-500 with hardware 5.10 and later). For LFC-VI and LFC-VII, 89-01201 comes with Superseal connector, hoses and one-way valve already fitted. One-way valve 59-00221. Older part 79-01200 (12 W) is superseded; do not order it.
